The Tiergarten in Berlin is the green lung of the city and a great spot to refresh for the stressed city people. Here the Berliners go for walks, relax by the roses, take boats out on the lakes, admire the statues and art and of course once it is possible go for a bath in the sun (often naked). Join Arja on a walk through this beautiful park with its over 500 000 trees and with over 210 hektar in size. Enjoy the lush greenery, take photos of the statues and hear the stories behind the memorials found in the park. A lovely day out in Berlin!
Arja has worked for over 13 years as a full-time tour guide in Berlin and all around Europe. She is a studied historian and passionate about all the big and small stories surrounding this beautiful city she calls home. Born and raised in Northwestern Germany, she came to Berlin after finishing university in Hamburg with a Masters degree in history and American literature and having traveled the world for 4 years. With her family roots in the city, she always felt drawn to the multitude of layers of life you can find in Berlin starting with her own family story. Telling stories is what she loves and meeting people from all over the world is the next best thing to traveling the world herself.
Arja has been guiding since Mar 2007
Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Berlin with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.
The tour will last about 50 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Berlin. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.
