Take a stroll with me as we explore the history and folklore of Ballachulish. Nestled on the west coast a short mile from the infamous Glencoe, Ballachulish has a long and interesting story. From Viking invaders, fire breathing dragons and witches curses to Jacobite insurrection, centuries of empire building industry and a heavy dose of injustice - Ballachulish has a story for everyone! And the views aren't bad, either.
Craig lives in Ballachulish, on the west coast of Scotland. He can be found exploring the mountains and glens hill walking or mountain biking. He loves Scotland's wild places; its rugged coastlines and soaring peaks. Almost a decade ago, he climbed the famous Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe, and with incredibly good snow conditions, he managed to slide down all the way back to the car. “Mountaineering in the winter hills is a much more fun experience if the snow conditions allow this mode of transport!” he quips. But his real passion lies in the long, intricate, and often bloody history for which Scotland is famous, and he loves nothing more than sharing this passion with all who join him on his travels. He loves working outdoors, educating, and showcasing the beautiful and fascinating country he lives in. Craig enjoys weaving stories with all of his tours, transporting people back in time and making them feel like they’re a part of the story. He also tries to interlink historical events together to give a greater understanding of how, where, and why the events took place. Here’s a fun fact: Craig was a member of the Ghost Club set up by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to investigate places suspected of harboring ghosts!

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from The Scottish Highlands. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
