Pepus is passionate about food and loves cooking and eating. Join him to check out the food variety, display and amazing colors of the Boqueria Food Market… often called the Best Food Market in the World! Learn what is meant by “Mediterranean diet” and what exactly “tapas” is. See the “turron”, “neules” and “polvorones” to be found in every table during the Christmas period. Olive oil, Jamón, chorizo, manchego cheese, razor-clams, olives, anchovies, Spanish omelet, exotic fruit, saffron, spices and nuts… Pepus will show us where the locals buy and in what places of the market, the vendors would eat their food. All wrapped up in an extraordinary gourmet foodie experience that we will not forget. Please note that the tour will visit meat and fish stalls which some vegetarians or vegans may find unsettling.

Food! Josep had us all ravenously hungry after his tour in Barcelona. I loved how he knew many of the stall holders. We learned how to preserve cod by salting it, but I won't be doing this as I hate cod. It was a fascinating trip, thank you.

Josep's tour was very informative and fun as he took us through the local market. Plenty of history and information was shared during this tour. I definitely want to do another tour in Barcelona in the near future.

Another great tour from Josep. He showed us one of the best markets in the world, we learned a few new things and plan to check the market when we travel to Barcelona. Josep’s tips are always great and we’re keeping a list for future reference. Thank you Josep and Virtual Trips for another successful tour.
