Bolotny Island and Red October

Bolotny Island, Moscow, Russian Federation

About the tour

Across from Christ the Saviour Cathedral, the biggest Orthodox church in Russia, you will find the trendy & artistic island of Bolotny; one of Moscow's most creative spaces. Red October is the focal point here, based on the territory of the former chocolate factory. Red-brick buildings host some of Moscow's nice restaurants, bars, graffiti art and galleries that have a great view. Built by Theodor von Einem, the Red October factory bore his name until the Bolshevik takeover. Production ended in the 2000s, when Red October was converted into Moscow's hottest entertainment area. Your guide invites you to explore one of the most beautiful local areas in Moscow to embrace: Red-brick industrial architecture Local graffiti art Panoramic views of the Moskva River from the Patriarch Bridge Magnificent Christ the Savior Cathedral

Meet your local guide

Anna is incredibly passionate about her job as a Moscow guide: every time she sees her guests catching their breath in a beautiful cathedral or smiling with a joy in the Red Square, she feels she's doing something right! As a true local, she knows that Moscow is an ever-changing metropolis and strives to communicate the diversity and contrasting characteristics of her native city - modern and ancient Moscow - at the same time. Anna loves showing Moscow from the perspective of a local - the striking and important history, beautiful architecture and modern lifestyle with hustle and bustle rhythm, authentic gastro-clusters and beautifully hidden lanes. We hope you can join Anna for an unforgettable tour of this wonderful city!

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Moscow with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.

The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Moscow. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
