Dyker Heights: A Brooklyn Christmas Lights Bonanza

Brooklyn, New York, United States
30 mins

About the tour

Dyker Heights is a Brooklyn neighborhood known for its over-the-top Christmas decorations. Join us and we'll "Wonder As We Wander". Concentrated in about 3 neighborhood blocks, these neighbors vie for the brightest and boldest (and dare we say most garish) displays. Light on the history but heavy on the seasonal spirit, this tour will be a great time to pour a mug of holiday cheer, turn on some seasonal music, and watch as we show you these Christmas spectacles!

Aaron K. and Patrick

Though originally from the cornfields of the Midwest, Aaron considers himself a New Yorker having lived here for over two decades. He's a Broadway performer by trade but delights in showing off his favorite hidden gems around the city he loves. Patrick moved to NYC in 1989 and has spent much of his career on Broadway. Over those 30+ years, he has watched the city evolve into the fun, fast paced tourist destination it is today. Whether you've been to NYC before or haven't checked it off your bucket list yet, Aaron and Patrick will be sure to show you something that will pique your interest.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to New York with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.

The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from New York. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

Aaron and Patrick were wonderful tour guides. We were unable to get to the Dyker Heights lights this year so they both brought the event to us. They are both very warm and friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. We will be back.😊

You guys are always so much fun and always make me smile. We truly need that at this time. I have never been to NY city and have really enjoyed your tours. Cheers to a better New Year from Michigan! Warmest thanks!

Took the time to show us many different houses and lights and share stories of that town. Gave lots of opportunities for postcards and literally pointed out things to see. Enjoyed learning about winter and Christmas in New York. Very friendly.

Aaron and Patrick are knowledgeable and fun! This was my second tour with them and it won’t be the last. You can tell they love their city and know it well—so eager to share it with all of us. Thank you both for a colorful tour of the holiday lights in Brooklyn. :)

An interesting look at what people do to their houses at Christmas. Thank you for the opportunity to see a part of New York I never knew existed.
