Brooklyn Heights is one of “America’s Most Beautiful Neighborhoods”(Travel and Leisure magazine) and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the first NYC district to be given this distinction. The many preserved pre-Civil War era townhomes and churches offer a glimpse into the thoughtful architectural styles of the past. On this tour, you’ll enjoy learning about the neighborhood’s significance in the American Revolutionary War and later the Abolishment movement, visiting the former homes of literary greats like Arthur Miller and Truman Capote, and taking in the unmatched views of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.
Aaron's life has been nothing short of an adventure. Originally from Alaska, he crossed the continent to chase his big-city dreams of a career in theatre. "My greatest honor and achievement was appearing on Broadway in the classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof. I’m constantly learning new, interesting things about NYC, but I’m keenest on the historical stories," he chips in. And New York City has popped up with unforgettable memories for Aaron, including singing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on National TV! Aaron's always loved travel and learning about my surroundings, wherever he is. "I’d also describe myself as a people-person, I love a good chat. All that considered, being a tour guide is an ideal job that feels like no work at all! " he laughs. His colleagues have often nicknamed him “Frommer” (of the travel guides) or “cruise director” due to his wanderlust and enthusiasm for sharing travel experiences with others. His favorite memories to date include a 4-month concert tour of Japan with the Tokyo Philharmonic, and a single day on Easter Island while performing on a cruise ship. Aaron is eager to share with you the rich history of Brooklyn, NY where he currently resides, and the magic of Alaska during winter. If you're lucky, you might just catch him singing a show tune on his tours!
