About the tour

the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the adjoining Grand Palace together form the greatest spectacle for the visitor to Bangkok. It consists of over 100 brightly colored buildings, golden spires and glittering mosaics, and dates back to 1782, when Bangkok was founded. When you enter the compound, you first of all see the Emerald Buddha Temple and the nearby attractions, and then move on to the Grand Palace afterwards. It is a pretty amazing place to visit so get ready to be wowed!

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

This was my first trip to Bangkok and I really enjoyed the sights and the history of the area. My one concern is Kay's lack of engagement of the tourists. Before the tour began, and people were signing in, he said very little and people were concerned that there was no audio. I understand some are not up to small talk with people but it helps on many levels, especially testing audio and making sure that the people on the tour are recognized, or acknowledge; if that makes any sense.

I did not leave a review of the tour of Grand Palace & Royal Temple of the Emerald Buddha when it took place as it was at 2 am my time, I was suffering from Long Covid and was shattered. I now have time to comment. I saw that others criticised his camera work. I noticed nothing wrong. He was a very very informative guide and made me want to see more. I tipped him well as he worked so hard with us. I was amazed that he went well over his allotted time with us. This was an incredible tour teaching us so much about a country that most of us have never visited. If only we did not have such a time difference.

I watched your tour once before and was so fascinated with it that I watched it a second time. I love the historical information that you educate us with. Fabulous tour! Warmest thanks!

Kay was very informative on the historical facts on the building during his tour. He also offered detailed views of the palaces.
