About the tour

Join your guide to embark on a journey through the marvelous walled town of Dubrovnik. Old town Dubrovnik, or just “The Old town” as locals call it, is a beautifully preserved architectural and historical jewel of Adriatic. On our walk we will see the most famous street of the town, Stradun (Placa), the town’s first pharmacy, first running water system, narrow streets, old harbor and all other most important towns buildings. The whole walk will be like one big moving postcard, as the beauty of the town will blow your mind.

Meet your local guide

Nikola has been a full-time tour guide since 2006, straight out of school and college. Sports - particularly basketball - are a big part of his life. He enjoys playing a good game of water polo, one of Dubrovnik’s popular sports. His tours offer interesting tidbits and fun stories that amuse travelers. “We may say that Dubrovnik invented the word Quarantine, as this was the first town where someone had to wait for 40 days (Quaranta in Italian is 40) in a designated area before they were allowed to enter!” he says. Living in both a very touristic country and a famous sports country means he has the best of both worlds! He's truly a 'people person.’ He enjoys interacting with people from different parts of the world every day and traveling for business. Introducing you to some delicious food and drinks, and seeing the smile on your face at the end of the tour is something he’s looking forward to!

Excellent tour, so good to be shown around this wonderful old town by someone who knows it so well. Can't wait to come and see it for myself.

This was a good tour, nice to see and lots to learn. I was disappointed however to have been on another tour where Nikola was on. Before the tour started, I mentioned that it was nice to see 2 other tour guides on that tour, Nikola being one of them. The other tour guide said hi to me, I replied hi back, nothing more. When Nikola replied, he said, "tnx, but let's keep it to the tour now." Yet shortly before that someone said to him, "Hi Nikola, I love your tours" He responded with a Thanks.... not the same comment he gave me. I know it might sound petty and if I was rambling on like some people can, I could see him making a comment....I just felt it was a little disrespectful and was it his place to tell me that? I think not!

Nikola did a fantastic tour. I really enjoyed the beauty of the buildings, line the view and the cleanliness of the town. During normal times, the place must be packed with tourist.
