About the tour

A walk around Glencoe Lochan, close to the scene of the infamous Glencoe Massacre of 1692. Surrounded by towering mountains and mysterious woodland, this tour will give you an in depth description of the politics and power play which led to this grizzly episode, as well as a step by step account of what happened on that cold February morning. And no story of Scottish history would be complete without a few myths and legends thrown in for good measure. So why not join me as we step back in time and unveil the true story of the Glencoe Massacre…

Meet your local guide

Craig

Craig lives in Ballachulish, on the west coast of Scotland. He can be found exploring the mountains and glens hill walking or mountain biking. He loves Scotland's wild places; its rugged coastlines and soaring peaks. But his real passion lies in the long, intricate and often bloody history for which Scotland is famous, and he loves nothing more than sharing this passion with all who join him on his travels. Loaded with stories - both humorous and fascinating - a tour with Craig is both rewarding and fun.

Craig has been guiding since Apr 2008

Thanks Craig for the tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much history I didn't know (and I am a Scot too). The views were wonderful and hope to see you again soon. Thanks also for giving up your time.

Another great tour with Craig. My husband got to join this time. We both loved it! Thank you so much for sharing. We went to Glencoe on a coach tour in 2019 and we miss it so much!
