About the tour

Visit one of the best preserved areas of Paris and see why Parisians cherish this trendy and hip district. Le Marais used to be the home of France's noble families in the 17th and 18th centuries before they were forced to leave during the French Revolution. The area became one of the poorest neighbourhoods in the city before being revitalised from the 1950s into what it is today. Join us as we walk by mouth dropping pavilions and hear centuries' old tales that will transport you through history.

Meet your local guide

Florent

It's an understatement to say Florent knows Paris. Born in this wonderful city, Florent says he confidently knows every nook and cranny. Having completed over 2000 tours, we believe him. He's a self declared history, art and archaeology buff. What he loves most is sharing the best parts (and dirty secrets) of Paris with you!

Florent has been guiding since Aug 2010

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Paris with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.

The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Paris. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

What I like about Florent is his historical and architectural knowledge. Also, I admire that he’s savvy about direction. He can easily point out which way is north or east. Not everyone can, and it’s exasperating when they get mixed up.

You keep getting better. My suggestion for the rapid camera panning is still to move it from side to side, very slowly, as if filming a video. You are young, high energy, but for retired viewers, those fast moves become a blur! It's magical, just being with you in those beloved spaces that I walked many, many years ago. Thanks again!

Florent is tops! Always engaging and so natural in what could be a awkward situation. He's so well versed in his topics and terrific about answering questions. I hope these tours keep going. I've loved everyone of them.

Florent is very knowledgeable and made the tour a delight. I kept losing the audio and visual signal multiple times, unfortunately.
