Gables, A Lake and A Preacher

About the tour

Let’s explore LA’s first suburb from the late 19th century, Angelino Heights. Within one block there are grand homes from three exciting architectural eras: The Victorian, Turn of the Century and Revival. The homes have been lovingly restored in this gorgeous neighborhood on the hill. Once we’re done gawking at all the gorgeous details of this Carroll Ave neighborhood, we’ll head down the hill to take in Echo Park and it’s magnificent lake complete with paddle boats and lotus flowers. If there’s time we might be able to hop over to The Angelus Temple and Sister Aimee, a pentecostal evangelist and media celebrity from the 20’s and 30’s. If we get caught up in Victorians, then we’ll schedule Echo Park and Sister Aimee for their very own tour. Let’s see how it goes!

Linda

Linda was born and raised in Southern California and loves to share its many adventures with others. Having traveled North America extensively as a professional musical theater actress, her favorite pastime is getting outside and “walking and gawking;” meeting new people, trying new foods, learning about different cultures. Especially in the car-centric city of Los Angeles, taking a walk gives you a different perspective on this complex and historically fascinating town. LA, and its surrounding areas, is a quilt of international neighborhoods that Linda can’t wait to share with you!
