About the tour

The Louvre is not only the most visited museum in the world, but it is also the biggest building in Paris with 800 years of history! A fortress built to protect Paris at its origin, the Louvre became a royal palace in 1380 and was the house of the kings in Paris until 1682. Many different rulers refurbished and added to the building which has now 407 rooms containing 380,000 works of art! We will discover the different architectural styles of the palace and learn about the different stages of its construction, highlighting that Paris really is a mix of old and new architecture - the famous glass pyramid being a prime example. Combined with the now-destroyed Palace of the Tuileries nearby, the Louvre was even bigger than it is today. Our tour will take in the nearby the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and the beautiful UNESCO world heritage gardens. This is a tour for architecture, history and garden fans alike!

He's a self-declared history, art, and archaeology fan. What he loves most is sharing the best parts (and secrets) of Paris with you! “In French, if you add two letters to Paris, it becomes Paradis (Paradise in English)” he laughs. And paradise, it truly is. Be it exploring Paris' gastronomical delights or catching an auction, walking along the River Seine (which Florent gallantly swam), exploring spots where Hemingway lived or its sprawling gardens, Florent takes you on an exciting tour through his favorite city. “I love sharing my discoveries, explaining the boisterous history of Paris and showing places that are very hard to find otherwise, and of course getting to know new people every day!” Florent says.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Paris with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.

The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Paris. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
