During this live virtual tour, Adam will walk you through the Northern part of the Buda Castle hill, which is one of the least visited part of the UNESCO listed hilltop neighbourhood. The 45 minutes long walk starts at the Western promenade of the Castle district with views overlooking the Buda hills. Before walking down the streets of this off-the-beaten-path residential neighbourhood, Adam will introduce you to the Mary Magdalene church which is one of the rare medieval monuments of Budapest. Fans of architecture will love the National Archives, while the viewpoint of the top of Vienna Gate is a treat for those collecting postcards. The residential part of the Castle hill between the Vienna Gate and the Matthias Church was once home of a large Jewish community which played an important part in the medieval history of Hungary. As we walk towards the iconic Fisherman's bastion, you guide will show you the traces of the once flourishing Jewish community and will also tell you a few stories about those who've been awarded with Righteous Among the Nations title. The virtual walk concludes with one of the nicest views Budapest can offer: the skyline of Pest with the House of Parliament building. This tour is an excellent complement to Adam's virtual tour in the Buda Castle and the Historical Jewish Quarter tour.
Adam finished his studies in April 2011, and has been working as a qualified guide ever since. If you are interested not just in the facts and figures but also the way locals live their life, Adam is your man! He was born and raised in Budapest and has been an eyewitness to a sleeping beauty's transformation to a multi-cultural metropolis. He can be your inside man to understand the Hungarians better, and to experience what life is like as a local.
Adam has been guiding since Apr 2011
