About the tour

Did you know that Galicia, Spain is one of the 7 Celtic Nations (Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Wales, Brittany & Galicia)? In this region of North-western Spain you will find remains of the Celtic past with many Castros (hill-forts) dotted in the mountains. On this tour come with Sean & Tiernan to explore a very remote, but amazing site on top of a hill at 158 metres high. Learn about the Celtic history of this area as well the Roman domination after that. There is also an ancient lighthouse made of granite stone that guided all the fishermen back to the port. From the hilltop, you will admire the best views of the tip of the peninsula of O Morrazo, Vigo Bay and the Cies Islands! Don’t miss this chance to discover virtually an unknown part of North-western Spain with a strong Celtic Heritage much in common with the other Celtic Nations!

Meet your local guide

Far from just reading out of tour guide books, Sean O’Rourke has immersed himself in his adopted country (Galicia, Spain) and truly wants you to understand and enjoy its culture. He personally guides their specialized small group historic, gourmet food & wine tours in Galicia. Sean is well versed in the various topics covered on the tour such as Celtic Hill-forts and music, the religious pilgrimage to Santiago, Galician-Roman-Celtic history, wine making, wine tasting, Galician modern & traditional cuisine, etc. Sean’s travels have taken him throughout Europe and Britain extensively. His interest into the Spanish culture has given him the ability to speak fluently in Spanish. Sean would be glad to translate and help with some basic vocabulary while on your vacation in Galicia, Spain. One of Sean’s many pastimes is the study of Ancient Celtic history, Galicia and it’s connection to the other Celtic nations (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and Isle of Man) has been his latest project and would love to share with you all the legends and stories of Galicia. Sean is Canadian, but of Scottish & Irish roots and his wife Angie is Galician, their goal is to show visitors an insider’s point of view of “GALICIA, SPAIN’S HIDDEN CELTIC PARADISE” "

Sean has been guiding since Sep 1999

My first trip to Galicia and I must say I hit the jackpot of views! What beautiful landscape from high above. The view was breathtaking! Sean gave a lot of good information and history of the local area. My only complaint is that it was too short of a tour. Even if we stared at the view for an entire hour, I would have been fine with that!

Fantastic Tour with great scenery overlooking the ocean and wonderful Celtic Site. The Stele somewhat reminded of the ancient site in Turkey Göbeklitepe. I will definitely watch this tour again
