Paris Open Air Food Market

le marché des enfants rouges, Paris, France
30 mins

About the tour

“Le marché”... just saying these words "the market" makes you feel in France. The open air markets are the France you like or dream of. The colours, the smells, the sounds, the touch of the fruits and vegetables, all our senses are awakened. Open markets have been established in Paris since the 15th century and this wonderful tradition is part of what enjoying life as a Parisian is all about. Farmers, bakers, fishermen, olive growers and chicken farmers come from all over France to sell their wares. Thanks to the French pride in quality and origin, more than 80 food markets remain active today in Paris, ranging in size and variety. Follow Patrick as he takes us to “le marché des enfants rouges” or the red children's market ... in fact the oldest active market in Paris.

Meet your local guide

I was lucky enough to travel the world with my job, discover different cultures and meet incredible people. I enjoy sharing the love and passion I have about my own city, Paris. Its monuments, its history, its gastronomy, its culture, and all of its little secrets. I can't wait to share all of these with you!

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
