About the tour

Hard to believe but true – Potsdam has a Brandenburg Gate as well. Not as famous as the one in Berlin but actually the original one. We will start our tour in the old centre of beautiful Potsdam where you will quickly understand why it is such a popular place for living these days and why the royals back in the days chose it as their hideout from the hustle and bustle in Berlin. After some scenic views on the Brandenburg Gate we will head towards the most famous part of Potsdam – Sanssouci Gardens and Palace where Frederick the Great built himself his personal Versailles to escape the harshness of reality. But he is not the only Frederick we will meet today, just wait and see how many there were. Along the way we will wander the cloister of the Freedom church built here in the 19th century and you will see how the Prussian kings and emperors modelled foreign architecture to suit the local taste. Come and join Arja on this visit to the royal past of Potsdam and get to see at least one of the 17 palaces the Hohenzollern built in Potsdam during their reign.
