About the tour

The river marks the essence of Porto and its historical development was always focused on the naval economy. Where once there was an active and prosperous harbor, protected by a strong medieval fort and granite arcades, a unique neighborhood of humble and working people of the docks grew. Where Henry the Navigator was born! With tiny "doll like" 14th century houses, painted in different colors, cobbled stone streets and wrought-iron balconies, the river front area of the city, "Ribeira", turned into the most iconic and visited part of Porto. Its perfect postcard... Where people talk with their hands, fish is grilled outside and hundreds gather on the terraces of typical restaurants, here is where you fell the most latin soul of our people.
