Royalty Revisited in Berlin Mitte

Mitte, Berlin, Germany
45 mins
Tip-Supported

About the tour

Without the family of Hohenzollern who would become the first Kings of Prussia and later Emperors of Germany, Berlin would not be the city it is today. It would have stayed a little trading post in the middle of a swamp in the East of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations. But their take over of the area of Berlin in 1415 kicked off Berlin´s story as one of the most important cities in Europe and maybe the world. Come and take a walk with Arja down the famous street Unter den Linden and see what is left of that royalty today, what has gone and what has come back. You will hear the stories of the Hohenzollern and their rise to power manifested in their monumental buildings you can still see today. We will end the tour at the most beautiful squares of Berlin – Gendarmenmarkt, which once was designed to be a market place in one of Berlin´s oldest suburbs also build by a king; which one you will find out on the tour!
