About the tour

Tel Aviv is known today as a non-stop city with a booming startup ecosystem and as a beacon of liberalism. But how did it all come to be? Well it all started from... seashells. This is the story of how this incredible city was born. We will discover the secrets behind the preserved houses, which have been recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites. We'll follow the Trail of Independence in Rothschild Boulevard, connecting ten sites relating to the establishment of Tel Aviv, including the Hall of Independence - the place where the state of Israel was founded. And of course we'll reveal how seashells fits into the puzzle so tune in!

Meet your local guide

I've been guiding tours in Tel Aviv since 2008. I started out of fascination with my family's history - the Chelouche family is one of the founding families of Tel Aviv. If you want to learn about how the city has transformed over the course of several generations, then look no further because I'll be able to give you a bit of a unique perspective! I love to show people around Tel Aviv and share stories about why this is the coolest city in the world.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Tel Aviv with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.

The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Tel Aviv. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

His English was so easy to understand and he took time to make sure the microphone was near his mouth. Tomer was extremely interesting and made me want to take his next tour he suggested.
