Join Myriam as she takes us to the largest craft market in Santiago; Los Dominicos. This old Hacienda contains more than 150 stores in the middle of the city. Here, artisan traders work with 100% Chilean products including wood, lapis, leather, clay and wool to create wonderful goods to tempt shoppers. On this tour we will learn about Chilean traditions and their importance on the entire American continent. We’ll hear more about typical dance, food and drinks; see some special souvenirs and hear some odd stories about them!
Myriam is 100% Chilean born and raised and proud about it. She has been working in tourism for more than 20 years, as a local tour guide in Santiago for more than 13 and as a trip leader guiding groups through Argentina and Chile for 5 years. She is passionate about her job, her country and its traditions and love to share all that she knows with people around the globe. She is honored to have the opportunity to introduce her homeland to you, sharing her knowledge its history, wine, people and culture but of course with a personal touch, fun details, incredible stories and juicy facts to make it more appealing, attractive and fun!
Myriam has been guiding since Nov 2007
Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Santiago with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.
The tour will last about 40 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Santiago. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Interesting. I'm not really a shopper but the history of the peoples was good.

I'm happy that I joined the tour but was also a little disappointed as it wasn't what I was expecting. I left a little early as there was far too much 'window shopping' for me, I was wishing I could see something of Santiago. Maybe it was just the district . Otherwise an enthusiastic tour guide. I'll try again if Myriam is doing a tour in a different area. Thank you.
