About the tour

It was HRH Prince Charles of Wales, probably the greatest ambassador of Romania now, who made Romanians realize in the last decades that the real and beautiful Romania has always been and will always stay in the rural villages. The tour will take us to the impressive open-air Village Museum giving us the feeling that we are travelling to rural areas where the time simply stood by, as some of these areas are still inhabited for real and suffered minor changes over the centuries. We shall discover a real "village" in the heart of vibrant Bucharest, with authentic & representative households - but not only, from all over Romania and also learn about centuries-old traditions still very much alive in some regions of country.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Bucharest. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

Thank you so much for a great tour, I visited this village when I did a tour of Romania, Moldova and Ukraine a few years ago, it brought back happy memories of your beautiful country.

Interesting, its bigger than Sibiu, (Astra) but would have liked to spend more time on windmills and the water mills as I am a mill enthusiast.
